CarePaks

The Right Dose Right At Your Fingertips

At Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy we understand the importance of delivering the right drug to the right person at the right time. With this in mind, Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy developed a compliance delivery and packaging program for our HIV and Transplant specialty patients.

At Diplomat our pharmacists are experts and using Diplomat for all your medications allows our pharmacists to watch for any harmful drug interactions or potential side effects.

Our CarePak therapy program includes:

  • Free verified automatic refills of medications: insures meds arrive before patient’s supply is gone
  • Free verified renewal: Diplomat will call the physician for renewals when refills are used up
  • Free shipping – UPS or US Postal – to the patient’s home, workplace or other choice.
  • We respect a patients’ privacy. Deliveries are discreetly shipped in a plain, white box labeled with only: “Diplomat Shipping” as the sender. The contents are never revealed. *Free start-up kit: Each patient receives a start-up bag that includes a number of helpful items needed for taking their meds (syringes, alcohol swabs, band-aids, sharps containers, etc)
  • Free compliance CarePak: Partnering with Medicine On Time, we created special compliance packaging for our specialty patients. This portable package makes it easier for patients to track their doses- taken or missed. We also provide compliance reports to physicians and clinics.

Diplomat helps patients stay on their therapy by staying in close contact. After each patient receives their first delivery, our Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) calls the patient to ask if everything arrived, and to ask if there are any questions or concerns. After this initial call, our PCC follows up monthly, or as needed, to ask how the patient is feeling and if there have been any side effects. The PCC acts as a patient’s personal advocate, encouraging them to remain on their therapy. Patients are also encouraged to call Diplomat at any time, for any reason.

Patients are not required to sign a contract to participate in our program and their only cost is the normal co-pay associated with their insurance, DAP or Medicaid. Diplomat works closely with the Michigan DAP program and is excited to become a provider for your state program.

Many retail chain pharmacies do not carry the very costly biotech drugs for the specialty patient; however, Diplomat always stocks these drugs. And, given the expense of these drugs, Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy assists patients without insurance and patients waiting to get on DAP or Medicaid. We have helped people enroll in various drug company assistance programs to tie them over until their coverage goes into effect. We also have billing professionals, in our specialty department, to help with any insurance set backs and to obtain prior authorizations.

Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy can provide you with references verifying the value of our services and affirm our commitment to helping our patients. Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy sponsors support group meetings and our staff regularly attends and speaks at various educational seminars. Diplomat also has an extensive library of literature, about specialty meds, available to patients upon request.
